About the Subject:

Hearty welcome to the Rog nidan & Vikruti vigyan Department. The subject having magnitude for the sake of academic as well as clinical practice. This subject is prearranged to the 3rd year (2012) undergraduate students along with 2nd year(2017). Subject corresponds to etiology, sign & symptoms, complication and prevention of diseases. Hence Right Diagnosis can be achieved through differentiating points & Laboratory Investigation. Hence the syllabus includes the basic fundamental knowledge of vikruti, different kinds of disease’s according to Ayurvedic texts as well as Modern Science. Subject also includes different kinds of diagnostic tools & investigation. Evaluation of the knowledge achieved by the students is done by conducting theory & practical examination along with Viva.

About The Department:

Department is well equipped & structured having area about 97 square meter. It has appropriate aeration & adequate space for each accommodative faculty. Department includes X-ray films, OHP sheets, projection sheets, charts, instruments, lab. Chemicals, different types microscope. Also department have museum which includes models and specimens. Our department having well operational laboratory with cell counter, biochemistry analyzer and all other lab. machines and chemicals needed for laboratory investigations. Departmental library includes Ancient Samhita’s and Modern Books. Well-made charts of important concepts are integrated for the visual impact on students. Departmental Laboratory has separate blackboard.

Vision:

By various means of diagnosis (Nidana) and precautionary measures (Nidana Parivarjana), ‘Health for all’ (Swasthyarakshana)

Mission:

-To establish well equipped pathology laboratory for the purpose of diagnosis.
-To assess health problems of the society by organizing camps and spread alertness about precautionary measures to maintain health.
-To evaluate major health problems in women’s.

Course conclusions : UG

-Define and describe the basic principles and terminologies of Rognidan.
-Define and describe Nidan Panchak (pathogenesis), Rugna Pareekshan (clinical examination) and Vyadhi vinischaya (diagnosis).
-Correlation between Pathology at cellular and gross anatomical level and the clinical signs and symptoms.
-Display proper usage and disposal of biological materials & keeping high standard ethics.
-Relate knowledge of histopathology and morbid anatomy for microscopic examination of tissue sections.
-Apply proper diagnostic procedures in pathological investigations.
