About the Subject:

Medicinal plants used to formulate medicines are the base of Ayurved Medicine. The quality of Ayurvedic Medicine lies in use of genuine drugs. Dravyaguna Vigyan subject deals with detailed knowledge of medicinal plants, animal origin substances about their pharmacognosy, pharmacology and application in multiple disease conditions. The Basic Principles of Dravyaguna are to be studied thoroughly to understand the basis of Ayurvedic Chikitsa. The traditional way of transformation of knowledge is useful in this regard.

About The Department:

Department of Dravyaguna Vigyan is working to enlighten knowledge of subject Dravyaguna Vigyan. Department has a well developed Herbal Garden of more than 250 plant species and more than 700 medicinal plants. The Museum is well developed with more than 300 crude drugs displayed for study enriching the knowledge of raw drugs. Department is well equipped to train students in macroscopic and microscopic study essential for identification of medicinal plants. Department of Dravyaguna Vigyan is offering hands on knowledge to Ayurved Scholars in identification with the help of Garden Visit in house and in other Medicinal Plant Conservation Gardens, Areas in state and out of state also.
Department is offering knowledge of Fundamentals of Dravyaguna Vigyan as well as detailed knowledge of Medicinal Plants and medicinal utility of plants.
